HOW TO MAKE A CINNAMON ROLL IN THE MICROWAVE

This is my favorite cinnamon roll in the microwave recipe! It has layers of delicious dough, cinnamon yumminess, & cream cheese frosting!

Ingredients

Units Scale

Cinnamon Roll Dough

  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon instant mashed potatoes
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon canola oil

Sugar Filling & Topping

  • 1 tablespoon dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Additional Toppings *optional*

  • Cream cheese icing
  • Chopped nuts

Instructions

  1.  Add all of the ingredients for the Cinnamon Roll Dough into a bowl.
  2. Mix until all the ingredients are combined & the texture is doughy.
  3. Add a small amount of your dough into the bottom of your microwave safe mug.
  4. Next add a sprinkle of the sugar topping around the sides of the mug .
  5. Repeat steps 3 & 4 until you are out of dough. There should be some of the sugar topping remaining. 
  6. Use remaining sugar topping to completely cover the top of the dough.
  7. Microwave for 1 minute & 25 seconds on high. The dough will expand in the mug.
  8. If you would like to add frosting on top, microwave your frosting for 20-25 seconds, or until smooth & runny.
  9. Top your cinnamon roll with the frosting & whatever other toppings you would like & enjoy!
